• Dear 4th Grader,

I hope you are as excited as I am about the start of the new school year!  We have experienced many changes in the way we learn in the last two years.  This can make us feel excited and maybe a little nervous as we start this new school year.  Rest assured, I will do all I can to support you to make your learning experience the best it can be.

First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. This will be my eleventh year teaching 4th grade at Chesterfield Elementary School. I have a passion for writing and science, and I love to read historical fiction novels.  I also enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and eating sushi.  I live not far from Chesterfield with my husband, son, and two daughters.  The girls are away at college and my son graduated from Rutgers University in 2020 (also my alma mater). Go RU!

During the first weeks of school we will focus on building our routines and understanding expectations.  We will also spend time getting to know each other through our Morning Meetings and lessons. We will discuss our hopes and dreams for the year, and develop rules and procedures for our classroom.  Each and every one of you is an integral part of our classroom.  In fact, it would not be the same without you!  So, bring your excitement, your hard work and enthusiasm and we will accomplish great things!!

I can't wait for our first day of school on Wednesday, September 7th. I know that we are going to have a fantastic school year!
